SWA to AA
Newly separated Mil dude wondering if the grass really is greener.
Hired at SWA less than a year ago.
Already holding Dallas reserve, not quite a line.
Reserve military on the side.
No driving desire to do WB minus the allure of WB reserve and not get called which is extremely appealing.
Wanting a DFW base. Not planning on moving ever again.
Got hired by AA and SWA already. SWA won because us military dudes are already brainwashed into thinking leadership actually cared about us and that company culture matters.
AA CJO is still on the table so I wouldn’t even have to interview.
Would you make the switch?

Both Managements hate their labor groups. But if you want a chance for WB one day and just to upgrade your life on the Bus with so much room for activities and you want to stay in Dallas then hard yes come over.

I just retired Mil and was in a similar situation (CJOs at both). I went with AA because I liked their bases more, and am very happy I did. My observation in the short time doing this: AA beats SWA in every category. I asked for DFW base and got it before finishing training, which is common right now. You might do a few months commuting but will get DFW quickly. It seems the 737 gets you here slightly faster than the bus, but I could be wrong. PM if desired, but I 100% recommend AA based on your situation.

But betas with Stockholm syndrome probably wouldn’t understand that. I bet you already spent your retro check.
