Then why don’t you leave your legacy job you flowed into and go to SWA if you actually think the grass is greener. I didn’t realize it takes over 6 years to become a NB CA or WB FO at AA. I didn’t realize new hires are all in their 40’s and probably will never see CA WB rates at AA.
I guess the point I’m making is you’re full of crap 24/7 - 7 days of week. I can’t imagine being so miserable working at a freaking legacy. But hey, SWA would love to have you in their next available class so if the grass is greener why are you not at SWA??

What brings you to the AAL forums?
I'm a new guy at SWA also looking for the questions about AAL- being DFW located. I'd like to hear your thoughts too.

Less than 6m on SWA prop. My main concerns are the same as OP, but curious for a SWA guy to pitch in.

Look at the yearly salary threads. NB SWA pilots consistently made more than NB Legacy pilots, unless they were lying.

I believe a true comparison would block/TAFB vs W2. Another factor is how much time some individuals spend on a computer trading & massaging their schedule, or setting text alerts for when something drops into ELITT and running to a computer to login. SWA has some methods to adjust schedules but it’s not a guarantee or with out a cost.

Zap,
For what reason- I'm genuinely curious. Feel free to PM me. I have a very short amount of time to make a decision here.
I'd retire at 2% from SWA presuming minimal growth- 3% no growth.
Less days off, PBS at AAL. I would need a fine fella around the age of 30-32 to give me an estimate of my retirement seniority at AAL dates for DFW holdings- CA & WB FO to really make a calculated decision.
Lack of schedule flexibility- from my knowledge.
Concerns of their balance sheet? The seniority movement is immaculate no doubt, but..... ^see above.
Why Zap is that your response? I appreciate the insight brother. Other fellas welcome to chime.
