AA can add stuff on to your schedule after you've already been assigned a trip on rsv? Is that in the AIP as well?

In my limited time here, I have not experienced that. I have had 3 schedule changes while on 3 different trips though, no big deal really.

I did have a buddy get screwed last month though. He is a 777 FO in LGA and was given a 3 day trip that went into his first day off. It finished so late that he couldn't commute home until the day after, so it ate 2 of his first days off. This is very rare though and all airlines

are dealing with this now with all the pilot shortages.

That absolutely sucks. With the new TA stating a reserve scheduled into a day off will get the entire sequence paid above guarantee, that will hopefully be a thing of the past.

Correct me if I am wrong, looking for the real answers prior to voting…. I haven’t heard this though.

My understanding is that if you’re scheduled into a day off you will get your day off restored and an extra 5:15 OG. If you choose to not restore the day off, then you get an extra 5:15 stacked (10:30). I haven’t read or heard that your entire sequence is paid OG.

Reserve no, and line holder yes.

New AIP will be yes for both, with increased compensation per event.

APA may claim they increased the difficulty in what is considered legal notification, and you can play dumb without consequence more often.

Not sure if they directly claim that or not, and not sure that even if they do they are correct.

It’s a very ambiguous type of projection to claim they negotiated easier “playing hard to get”, and it is actually a slam dunk projection.

what do you mean “rsv no”?? We gave up on the whole Reserves can’t be reassigned grievance. Happened to a guy yesterday, on a turn, and they ACARS’d RA him into a 3 day. Has happened to me multiple times. I always fight it, but they certainly try and most guys relent

He's referring to checking for a follow-on assignment after legal rest.

After block in on the last leg, you're done. If they want to add flying, the current system requires that they send you an ACARS before entering sterile.

IMO reserves being assigned more flying into reserve days is tantamount to being...a reserve. It's your (their) job.

Extending line holders into days off while not extending reserves into additional reserve days...I'm sorry and I know this sounds dickish but frankly idk. We can address reserve QOL in a decade when hiring drops off and reserves are now stuck on reserve not because of bidding to a higher bid status but because of a lack of movement.

If a reserve gets extended into a day off, you get that time back off. Lienholders do not.

IMO a worthy "trade" if there ever was one.

"Pilot quality of life is of no benefit to the Company" -SWA

I want to highlight disability. EVERYONE needs to understand how far behind SWA is:

1. No coverage first year from the company—unless at UA, AA, or DL

2. Smallest amount of disability per month at SWA

3. Only get that small amount for half your longevity, minimum of 5 years. At UA, AA or DL theirs lasts until age 65 or retirement.

4. SWA contributes NOTHING to your 401k when out on disability after sick time is exhausted.
At UA and AA, it’s still 17%—and Delta actually doubles their NEC contribution to make you whole for what they were putting in before you went out. Yup, that’s going from 16 or 17% to 32 or 34%!

This is why SWA pilots all paying $500 a month in SWAPA STD/LTD, to try to cover some of these gaps. Even so, no NEC $ truly kicks our pilots when they’re hurting. And this isn’t even mentioning non-rev or medical coverage… See less
