"Different leg lengths" cmon man. AA, UA, DAL all have similarly geographically located hubs with a possible outlier being SEA but MIA is similar for AA. You're reaching. Forcing the optimizer to "fight" between 5:15 and <10 FDP would be a win. Period.
Do you know this for a fact, have you run the scenario through our PBS bid packets?

If not, you do not know the unintended consequences.

There are some good people in the union, but its structure is flawed. It would benefit with the added oversight and resources ALPA would provide.
Pretty much this, but don't try and point out the inconsistencies to the True Believers on FB; you'll just get your religious commitment questioned.

Forcing more pay into the time I am at work is good. 3+ hour sits are bad.

I know these facts and I know the 10 hour rig would improve both.

The optimizer is always going to do what's best for the company. Our negotiators should ensure that what's best for the company is also as close to what's best for us.

No you don’t!! You assume and since Delta has it it must be good for us!

It may not force higher value days. It just may force more of them.

If your goal was higher value days wouldn't increasing ACD to say 6:00 hours be a far better tool?

I agree it's going to minimize soft credit.

We have a duty rig and TAFB rig. Why not tighten up those a little and see the effects? Putting additional restraints on the system introduces friction, which costs money, and doesn't allow us to recover that into our paychecks.

Parker repeatedly offered to staple the Delta contract. Why would he offer that if it wasn't good for the company?

10 hour rig would accomplish similar but with the caveat that the 10 hour is now industry standard and easily bargained. 6:00 ACD is not nor are any of the other things you mentioned. AA is not going to lead on things like this, ever, and APA is incapable of making them.

I don't have a law degree, so can anyone explain (nicely) what this means:

Additions to the Post-Ratification LOA
  • Evaluate for potential modification and interaction to pairing construction:
    • Enhanced narrowbody pairing distribution parameters
    • Unaugmented long-duty day RIG (10 hour 1:1)

Because it would have put him one contract cycle ahead of both UAL and DAL and continued his pilot labor cost advantage. Really 2 since we were already one behind.

Keep taking things at face value instead of thinking about what they mean.
