I listened to the PHL town hall. The company is not budging on some very important issues. We are close but they are not budging.

Company will not move on deadhead middle seat assignments. Not even for flights over 3 hours.

I think the PHL TH confirmed aisle or window is agreed to for DH. The heel dragging by the company is giving first for flights over 3 hrs.

Group pay vs. specific aircraft pay vs. banding. 40% raise company offered leaves us $13 below Delta 321NEO pay last year of contract.

Agreed

Sick time accrual. Still not budging on 5 hrs/mo.

Agreed

not budging on trip ownership, pairing distribution.
RO is complete. Better but not great. Now called CAP. 4 hours to get new assignment. Footprint shortened to original plus 4 hours. Still available for entire footprint. Not able to go home unless you give up pay guaranteed. One bite at the Apple may not be in there. My interpretation.
The board will not agree to anything other than Delta back pay or better.

Agreed

Some really great things agreed to but still lagging on many industry standard items.

Please listen for yourselves. This is what I heard and interpreted myself.

Our strike vote result and picketing on Monday was impressive. Time will tell if AA is in agreement. We should know in a week or two according to PHL VC. Next move is probably arbitration and then we are going to have to have some serious patience.
Nice write up.

Going into a recession... I truly hope we aren't holding out over middle seats when hiring stops and furloughs are on the horizon. Look at FedEx, how is their negotiating leverage now?

"I truly hope" implies uncertainty or a possibility. My opinion is yes. Certainly debatable. But again, with a 40% raise on the table I wonder if it is wise to be holding out for middle seats. The RLA really kills our negotiating ability and limits us to only negotiating when hiring gets difficult, like now. I think the environment is changing. Rapidly.

Business class DH for a 3 hour flight isn’t going to happen. Almost all of our pilot bases are 3+ hours from DFW blocked. Between DHs for training and regular flight schedules, half the business class cabins in/out of DFW would be filled with pilots. Who’s going to agree to that?

Whats the language for biz class DH now? TPAC, TATL, and south of the Equator right? Is HI included in that? I think it would be reasonable to try for 4+ hours domestically, but 3+ isn’t going to happen.

I would like to see us moved up to the top of the upgrade list though rather than the bottom, where we are now.

It also sounded like there will be some significant and much welcome changes to LTD.

Gonna keep rooting for the NC.

Are you even on property yet? You're certainly entitled to your opinion but maybe you should get some time on the line and experience some 4 leg, 13 hour duty days with a middle seat deadhead for a better perspective. It's BS and I hope they fix it.

I'm not on property yet. My experience flying includes sitting in an ejection seat for over 10 hours. I've also deadheaded 15+ hours at a part 121. I've spent over 20 years on "the line" flying some of the most challenging flying out there. No I haven't flown at AA yet. I would prefer not to be in the middle seat DH, but my point was that this is probably not the hill to die on. 40% raise on the table...

If no TA, the next step is mediation, not arbitration.
