Self-help is the only leverage under the RLA. It’s a long process to get to that point. Anything that moves it closer gives leverage. Nobody wants a strike. But there has to be a credible threat to move negotiations forward.

In modern times, passenger bookings drop and even corporate accounts go to competitors when a major work group puts the word "Strike!" into the media. It's highly effective even if there is no real threat of an actual strike. It's all part of the exercise of the RLA.

You’re totally missing the point. Even if they are never released it will create a “book
away” effect when it gets media attention to the less than intelligent general public who think a strike is imminent and won’t take a chance booking summer travel w AA.
