Any non-US citizens flying at AA?
Hello! I'm trying to avoid any politics with this post but I wanted to see if there was anyone flying with AA who has been sponsored by the airline? Is there anything in the contract prohibiting the hiring of non-nationals?

I'm a non-US citizen working for AA. But I am married to an American citizen. Outside of that, there is a zero percent chance you or anyone else without citizenship or a green card gets sponsored, at least in the near future.

AA Wholly owned regionals will sponsor foreign pilots in some circumstances. However you must have “right to work” in the USA to work at AA (citizen, green card etc.)… this is something AA WO recruiters conveniently leave out of their sales pitch when they talk about flow to AA.

You have an E-3 visa if I’m not mistaken, 100% legal. So ignore him.
He also mentioned he doesn’t want his family or friends flying with AA because crews have low morale. That tells you all you need to know.

Don’t mind people like him, only way to fight them is by ignoring them. He mentioned on a different thread that he’s an Italian-American (white) guy. I wonder if his Italian family back in the day did the jobs that other Americans could do or not.

There are multiple non US citizens at AA including myself. I think we had at least 4 in my class. You need to have the right to work though (in my case, I have a green card). If you are a non-US citizen with nothing set up yet they are not going to sponsor you to get a visa. If you do have a visa that allows you to work then that should not preclude you from being hired to fly for American, as long as you meet the other requirements.
