I’m at ~1600, so I don’t truly expect a callback yet, but doesn’t mean I can’t cross my fingers…

Are you at a 121 regional? If so I would not expect a call at that low of time. Especially if it’s one that does any AA flying.

Former or current military? Maybe.

Corporate? Probably still too low unless you have 1000+ multi turbine and some TPIC to come with it.

That's good to know. I filled out my app at about 1550 hours and was assuming that's why I haven't been called. No military, no TPIC, not at a regional, just 700 hours multi turbine now with a 73 type.

At a non-AA regional, with just under 500 TPIC….

But like I said, no expectations, just hopes…. I have seen some of the people hitting property and they seem about the same quals…

Those are good stats with the multi-turbine and the type.

I, obviously, have no idea what I am talking about but I wouldn't be surprised if 1000 multi turbine is enough to trigger something. Purely speculation. You could get a call today for all I know - unprecedented times to say the least.

Yeah, I feel like 1000 turbine is probably a trigger. It seems like most posts I've seen of people hired are over 2000 hours anyway, unless they know someone.

I have a question about the PST. I received an email stating that I submitted my application and that I must complete an assessment (PST). That's great, but I have multiple incomplete portions of the application and didn't intend to submit for awhile. I am currently deployed and not available for an interview.

Is there a time limit for taking the PST? For example, will the link expire?

If I take the PST and then receive an invite for an interview, will I have the option to delay the interview until I return from the deployment?

Thanks! I was not expecting the assessment email because I've only completed a few portions of the application and want to make sure I sequence everything correctly.

Don't worry. When they call/email for interview you can explain that you're on deployment. You may be able to do the testing, interview prep, and maybe even the HR call while deployed. Depending on your flight schedule and opsec. Take your time with the testing, but don't stress about it. The most difficult part is answering the questions like "would you rather kick a puppy or steal money from your grandma?"

Have an explaination if needed. Back in 2014 or 2015 they did the online interview with the canned questions. You had 5 minutes for each question. Each question was read back to you twice. If you finished your answer in 3 minutes you could continue to the next question. Some people would just wait for it to time out and sit there....the reviewer did the same thing...sitting there thinking, after doing this 12 times on a Sunday night "for the love of god push the damn button so I can finish and go to sleep!!!" LOL.

Once you hit start you couldn't stop. Reviewer starts the review...guy comes on camera wearing a flak jacket and a helmet - "sorry but the base just came under mortar attack so I have to wear this...." Reviewer's thinking "geez, keep your head down..." Another person interviewed in person in jeans...checked her bag and the not AA airline lost her bag. LOL. The interviewers/reviewers realize that doing this thousands of times weird stuff will happen in life. Just explain it. Ask for clarification. Recruiting isn't out to 'get' people. If you're putting in an honest effort it's human nature to pull for you.

This exactly. I met with an AA recruiter a few weeks back and he said around 1000 turbine is their min, but might go down a little in 2024 due to the high volume of hiring they need to do.

I'm at around 2000 TT and 500 turbine so I have a bit to go yet. Been flying my tail off to get there!

Good luck!
