I'm assuming if my scores are no good then I can kiss an interview opportunity good-bye so it doesn't strike me as something to just leave up to chance. Any advice is much appreciated.
Up to you. I went in cold, because I didn't know what it was. I bombed some of the items and did OKish on others. I didn't feel like I aced any part of it, and I got the interview and the job.

I'd like to add to that question and ask how many hours you were at, JulesWinfield? If you don't mind. Is ~2500 a good estimate to get a call, depending on previous experience? TIA.

I got the invite to interview the next week. I had around 6k total time and around 1.5k turbine pic.

If I partially completed the PST on the old website, do I still need to re-do it? Emailed recruiting but the issue happened during the switch from the old website to the new one.

I got the phone call for an interview the day after completing the PST. Was sitting around 3000TT, 0 PIC Turbine, 1000 Multi Engine Turbine, and about 650 hours 121. Interviewed and received a CJO. Hope this helps and best of luck!

This is interesting

I never thought I would see the day when US Majors were using skills tests (aptitude tests)

It is common in Australia, ME , Asia , UK & EU. It sounds like perhaps you have a Brit (or even worse an Australian) move into your HR dept

I set up a company called Pilot Aptitude Training Systems (PATS) in Melbourne Australia 20 years ago, our office is at 546 Collins St Melb (main business St). Website getting overhauled at the moment , but will be back up next week (its old), as business email down also(have alternative). But you can see our office details if you google us & phone number(to text put +61 at front & disregard 0) . We are in a nice old building - the McPherson building.

We are experts in all Pilot Aptitude Tests whether AON (cut-e), Compass, Pilapt, SHL (Qantas ), Saville pretty much anything & everything we know them backwards & all of our clients do extremely well. Typically in the past we have done 100% of our courses "face to face" in Australia or on training trips to Asia/ ME, but for AON(cut-e) we can do by distance. Expect a result in the top 5% at least (that is something we can guarantee)

Cut-e is relatively new (last 7 years) but quite widely used in Asia (CX/SIA), EU & ME

Happy to give you a list(with full contact details) of people we have assisted join Qantas recently as Pilots. A lot of these guys we assisted them get first airline such as Jetstar, Virgin, Scoot, Qantaslink & have now moved onto Qantas mainline

Over the journey we would have assisted 1000+ join the QF Pilot group , many more in Asia/ME. These days we still do a lot of aviation but most work is from the corporate sector & we are careful with website content. What I would say about most of the other "providers" who have sprung up - well they came after us , well after us.

Happy to provide any advice to Americans who might consider coming to Australia with a view to flying for the Qantas group. Likely you could use the E3 equivalent for Americans , QF ,Virgin are short of people here & we could hook you up with their HR people(give you email address). Remember once you have Australian PR New Zealand(& Air New Zealand) is also open to you. We also know the Asia/Pacific/ME areas regarding airlines

A lot of the Airlines here have been petitioning Govt to allow them to sponsor flight crew & I think Aussie Coast Guard maritime patrol is already hiring those from USA

But this thread is about the AA skills test, so feel free to send us a text(or PM us) & we can discuss how we will get you a top 5% (more likely top 2% score) in short order

It really is like a trip to the dentist - do it once & once only

The way pilot selection is typically done outside of the USA is that the skills test will count for a portion of your overall score

Regards
