no, you go when your seniority can hold it. Only provision is when going to your first Capt upgrade, you can exit your seat lock early if you have one.

no, some people spend 30+ year careers here at AA without ever being CA. It's all seniority, a NB FO could get WB FO over a NB CA. If you want to blow your mind, a NB FO could get WB CA over a NB CA. Awards are blind to your position, they only know your senority.

You can also become a WB CA without ever having been a WB FO.

Short answer...Yes.

There is a reason that some bid statuses go very junior. If it were good, senior people would bid for those. The new hire junior pilots get what no one else in the company wants.

At AA, wide body reserve in general is a pretty good life.

Wow! I didn’t know that can be a thing, how senior do you need to be to get to WB CA from NB FO?

the same seniority as it would be from any other position. Are you an airline pilot?

yeah, no worries. So, seniority numbers work system wide at each company in the airline world. Whatever that number can hold you can do, or not do if you so choose. A corporate flight department might have a situation that you’re thinking of where you have caveats before you can work a certain plane or seat

You fundamentally misunderstand why WB FO has gone junior, only very recently, at Delta. It is much more complicated than what you indicate.

WB FO absolutely does not suck at Delta. And it’s about to get even better (and senior) with 18 hour long call, pay banding, and Covid-era seat locks expiring.

Interesting, are you a WB FO at DL?
