yeah. I feel bad for suss. No one should live a life that makes them that unhappy.

Recently flew with a guy who lives in Boone. He said that he sat short call reserve there. Would pack a uniform and suitcase in his car and just hang out go hiking whatever he felt like doing. I believe he was also a Florida relocator.

I suppose an early 2023 hire who went to LGA and stayed there through January 2024 vacation bidding might get a summer/Christmas/thanksgiving/etc vacation. Pretty tough to do in any other first year scenario though.

Default where to live

The youngest is graduating from high school soon. I am considering switching bases from DFW to CLT. What is the most preferred area to live that's driveable (under 90 minutes)? Somewhere with yards that are a minimum of greater than an acre? I don't mind a little bit of a drive - I already drive 2 1/2 hours to DFW.

Thanks

Lots of larger plot of land neighborhoods in Union county. Weddington/Waxhaw. 45 minutes/1 hr from the airport.

It really depends on what type of area you want to be in. I live in the far western portion of the state in the Mountains where I'm from. It is just over a 3-hour drive but you should see my view! Hendersonville is also in the Mountains and only 1.5 hours from CLT. If you don't mind the Piedmont area, Shelby is only about 35 minutes from CLT and has a rural aspect to it outside of town. Lincolnton is pretty close to CLT and yet has a small-town feel. The possibilities are endless really.
