control is a strong word. More like I know what days I’m working after the trips are awarded. Sometimes I can move things around. In base reserve is not a bad life. I just happen to prefer knowing what days I’ll fly.

in regards to the 737/320 discussion the posts above are accurate. At this point in my career I like an easy work day… I like the bus.

captain in Charlotte. Well. I don’t know. Seniority projection on the aapilots page tells me around end of year five. I think that is likely to be different. Perhaps better or worse. Hard to say. Better get out that eight ball. After 23 years in this business I don’t have expectations. I deal with whatever happens.

What is the current ratio between the 737 and the Bus in CLT?

And which base my seniority projection would grow faster as a new hire on the Bus today?

The bus in CLT is one of if not the single largest bid status in the whole system. It is multiple times larger than the 737 in CLT.

MIA or LGA would probably be fastest on the bus.

Good to know, thx!

I thought the 737 was larger in CLT than the Bus. Glad to know the bus is larger.

It took me a smidge over 5 years to hold CLT Airbus CA. It would have taken me about 4.5 to hold CLT 737 CA. Those numbers will drop to less than 4, perhaps even 3 soon. We still have yet to reach peak retirements and Covid slowed everything down for a year.

Got my indoc date of 4/19. What are the odds of getting CLT and the bus out of training? That's my numero uno pick.

Age? Bus is likely, but CLT, not so much. You’re most likely looking at lots of LGA bus.

slim to none, but crazier things can happen via crew planning. Like, despite the fact that they send tons and tons new hires to LGA, they still need to TDY guys there in May…

36. I'll probably put up with a commute for a bit to get the plane I want.
