Default LEANING to leave AA for DAL

Currently have about 1.5 yrs at AA, LGA based bidding 20% on international side currently on 737 FO, upgrade time is currently 2.5 years on 737 while widebody FO in NYC on 777 is currently more senior around 4-5 years, I have 2500 pilots below me, I am about 15% up the way of seniority list already.

Got DELTA CJO a couple days ago and thinking of making the jump. Age wise currently low-30's so I have a 30+ year career ahead of me hopefully and NY is home and where I want to be based. Looking for prospectives pros/cons of either staying at AA or leaving for Delta.

Leaning towards making the jump to DL

I’m a local AA guy with too much time on property to leave. I’d say go. Long term seniority loss is minimized by being in the junior base. Upgrade will happen ASAP. Much much larger pressence in NYC. Contract is about to be voted in. Better profit margins. Make more money. Better variety of flying.

I'd say go. At 2.5 years and a local for both AA and Delta, you're at the right point to leave. If you were here much longer than that I would be a little hesitant, but I think you're gonna have a more enjoyable and prosperous career over there than you would here. Just my opinion, good luck.

No brainer. I’d leave.

I would jump if I were you. Delta will probably always be big in NY. American's NY international network is dependent on feed from Jetblue. If that alliance gets disrupted then AA will most likely retreat to PHL. Over the last 20 years AA compensation has lagged Delta by a significant margin. Not to mention the adversarial relationship with labor at AAL. If it were me I would go for the solid track record of industry leading contracts and large annual profit sharing checks rather than the hollow slogans like "making culture a competitive advantage." Whatever you do you can't go wrong.

Probably worth running to DAL if you’ve got 0 intention of leaving NY.

I’d jump ship to DAL in your situation and not look back.
