They can only do it 2x per month, and it costs them money, so there's really no reason to do it other than super short months. You should be fine until the fall. Looking through RAS in September, if you have decent seniority, you should work a lot less with this system. There's some PBS strategies you could use to ensure you have multiple people junior to you in the 1-4 day blocks.

I’m predicting guys will be jumping all over themselves to fly into a DFP. Have to be back before noon, and have the option of 5:15 plus the day restored or just take 10:30 OG? That’s a sweet deal for anyone who lives local.

I should clarify this. Sorry. This is a pilot option, not company option. There is a slider that you can turn on saying you're ok flying into a DFP. So, as a LC, if you have it set, and they do a RAS run, you'll get it and the SC guys stay home. OG pay still applies. You option it on, you get it, you get OG.

You can be awarded this as many times as happens, you can only be assigned into a DFP 2x a month.

And it isn't a change from current contract in terms of involuntarily being assigned into a DFP.

They could do it under the old system if you were the last QLA person available.

Not trying to come off as defending it as I believe every off day should be a golden day and the only time I am pushed into a day off is because of weather or mechanical directly affecting my flights, but it isn't a change. The change is now being able to volunteering for it.

Absolutely. I also think they should all be GD days, but like you said it only when stuff goes sideways; at least we get paid for it now unlike the "thank you sir may I have another" of the old JCBA.
