LEANING to leave AA for DAL
#14
Are you kidding? A junior captain at Delta has a better QOL than a senior AA captain. Do you have any idea the kind of people AA is fast tracking In middle management? Here’s a hint: Qualifying traits are incompetent and hates pilots. I don’t think upper management like Isom or Vasu are bad people, but when you see the kind of people moving up the ranks…… it ain’t good. Run don’t walk from this place.

As mentioned before, Delta is way bigger in NYC. Also don’t discount the fact that tomorrow they’ll likely have an industry leading contract that will blow ours out of the water. And it’s not out the question that we’ll have to go into mediation to get that done here. That process is a year minimum. You have a job offer in hand, at New York's biggest airline. Seems like an easy choice to me.

That's a pretty huge difference and all other things being equal would make me want to stay at AA. There will be a ton of movement here shortly at AA but staying in NYC if that's your goal with no chance of moving makes it a harder call. You can't go wrong with either choice imo.

We live for our future selves in lot of ways, specifically in preparation for retirement. 60 or 1000 are just numbers. Live for how your QOL and financial well being will be in the near future. Delta will provide that, especially being in the NY area. AA isn’t even in the same ballpark.
