BK process had an 8% (?) pay raise, merger process increased that (30%??). Parker unilaterally gave a Delta matching pay raise a couple years later. 2016???

Guys that based a major airline move on internet sentiment and stayed put because "AA is a joke" potentially lost thousands of seniority numbers. That aside, I've flown with many former Spirit guys, and will say, they are great to fly with! They really know the plane, are great FO's and usually a good demeanor/personality on a trip.

Probably, starting about 15 years ago when people were getting calls from Delta in indoc and walking out of class. Management (I think that was still Arpey) finally matched Delta's newhire rate and bumped the pay scale for the rest of us.
AA has always (25 years) neglected international. Like someone said on another thread, "Delta uses domestic to feed a profitable international system.", "American uses international to feed a profitable domestic system.". Wide bodies just haven't seemed to be a priority at AA. They certainly weren't a priority in the early 2000's when management LOVED RJ's. I think, deep in the bowels of Centerport (or whatever Parker's Palace is called now) there's still a cadre tasked with figuring out how to make contract RJ's work so they can reduce pilot headcount at mainline.
Oh well, not my monkeys...

unless you were talking about recalls during 2007-08 time period.

There were quite a few 2007-08 hires, both on the DAL side and the NWA side. There were a fair, but not tremendous numner of hires in 2010. After that, it wasn't until 2014 that hiring picked back up.

the DAL 07-08 hires were what i was referring to. Pre recession at that. AA hired none, unless we are talking about USairways hires
