"Anywhere" is a strong word. NK? B6 West Coast based? Pretty sure those are not great places to be right now.

Given the economic data the last week I wouldn't leave anywhere to go anywhere.

This. Especially if already at the big three plus Southwest.

It was fun while it lasted. For years people will be looking back at these ridiculous threads wondering what it was like to be in the industry when it was so good.

We will never see a hiring run like we did from mid 2021-early 2024 again in our lifetime. It was the best of times.

You would think, by now, with everything we've seen, people would have learned not to say "never".

But here we are.

Well, I'm pretty confident that it won’t happen in our lifetimes at least. Unless you can think of some mechanism occurring again which creates a bell curve of age distribution to create a wave of mass retirements between all the big airlines at the same time. And right when that starts, introduce a black swan event where you offer a lot of early outs reducing pilot staffing even more. Then have the recovery from said black swan event occur faster than anybody in their wildest dreams could have imagined in the midst of the mass retirements. All of this combined creating the greatest ~2.5 years of airline hiring the planet has ever seen.

Yeah, I am pretty confident we won’t see those 2.5 years level of hiring ever again.

Unfortunately for those of us like myself at NK (been here 12 years) a lot of us are doing just that (UAL, AA, DAL)... (21 years left for myself). Talk about the frusteration of watching thousands of low time RJ F/Os get hired while we all sat, fat dumb & happy thinking the JB Merger was going to go through, lol. I feel myself getting bitter like that guy (SkyHigh), who remembers him....

you could still stick it out at Spirit if you feel like you have enough time in. I doubt Spirit is going out of business.
