Waaay back in the '80's when I was in college and my airline of choice was hiring only deregulation pilots, I talked to the Navy and Air Force. They didn't exactly laugh, but...

Mission hacker? No, I just expect that if I put my family on an airplane the crew acted like professionals and used all available resources prior to showing up to work.

Safety and contracts should not cross.

Believe what? That the company should pay us for learning new procedures? I’m not a salaried employee.

Should we do distance learning for free too? I mean it’s just reading and a couple videos right?

Maybe we should give the company a break on CQT as well. After all we aren’t REALLLLY flying a plane. I don’t even have to wear my uniform!!!!! What a great deal!!!

Since we are at it I’d probably be ok with 30 minutes of pay for every hour of DH. I do have to wear my uniform but sometimes I sleep on them. It’s only fair.

Im the one that should quit though. Sure. This is why we are in the position we are contract and company/pilot relationship wise. Fool me once……

Good lord.

Newsflash Mr Non Salaried Professional: There is no requirement for uniforms on a deadhead.

You are paid. Your hourly rate compensates for such tasks.

If you do a turn with no rig, do you skip the walk-around? We were paid DL for flight keys, did you get everything you needed as you hit the enter key as fast as you could? No problem, they just pushed it to Comply, so you can check in( still not getting paid if no rig) and learn it when it goes live.

Thanks chief. It was illustrating a point. I am aware of the DH rules. I also probably DH out of uniform maybe 2x a year: to and from CQT. All 30-50 of the other are in uniform because they are mid trip.

You got me good!!!!!!

Doing a walk around is part of operating the acft. I’ve already learned AA’s procedures for my acft(which I was paid to do). If they want me to re-learn anything then I should be paid. I don’t do this for fun. It’s a career. The company fights tooth and nail to uphold their end of the contract and to pay us the the least possible amount of money and squeeze out every ounce of productivity. We should be fighting just as hard in the opposite direction.

This is a camel nose. You not being able to understand that is part of why we are walked all over daily by the company.

Can you show me in the contract where it says that?
