Got the call a few days ago for February 21. Looming back, it only took two weeks between prints/paperwork and getting the date, but it always feels like an eternity…
Final timeline:
10 / 9: app started, sent PST around this time
10/18: fixed app (buggy site didn’t save everything) and finished PST
10/19: made interview appt and travel requests
11 / 3: Admin HR interview
11 / 7: Interview in DFW, review board
11 / 9: Succesful review, CJO
11/13: fingerprinting, drug test, background check paperwork
11/17: “expect a call soon” email
11/27: called and offered first available, 02/21/24

2. Do applicants need to travel back to DFW for fingerprinting, drug test, background check paperwork? Or can you accomplish these items near domicile?
3. What is the background check paperwork? Is this an addendum to the application, questionnaire (not sure if you are mil, but is this an SF86 type questionnaire?) , or authorization paperwork to complete background check?
thanks for the info!

1. I'm assuming based on your timeline you used the new application website. Were there addendums to the application once submitted?

2. I completed fingerprinting and drug test on same day as interview. I believe review board hires can complete that process from a location near home. Background check, etc was completed online with a company called HireRight.
3. Includes multiple different documents to complete and/or authorize such as PRIA, driving history, etc. I have completed three SF-86s, and this was nowhere near as involved. The most time-consuming was PRIA.

The background check is NOT like a military /government security clearance. It just ensures you are who you say you are, double checks your college/degree dates, and most importantly checking that you don't have either pending warrants or previous criminal record that would prohibit you from piloting in 121 operations. Also looks at your previous aviation work history (air carrier work history).

You should be able to check your own PRIA and know if there is anything in there that you should have disclosed. They will be upset if you didn't so know what's in there.
You can also check your FBI report if you can't remember if you have a criminal record or not.
If you disclosed everything or are lucky enough to be squeaky clean then there is no reason to wait months and lose seniority numbers.

Looking for a general timeline on Indoc/Break/Sims/OE.
From what I understand reading this board:
Indoc- 2 weeks
Break till aircraft training- 4-6 weeks depending on 320 or 737
Aircraft Training (Sims?) - How long is this typically with no repeats or extra sims on average? Are there more breaks in this phase besides weekends or holidays?
OE- does OE start immediately after the sim check ride or is there another break waiting for first OE trip? If so, how long is the wait on average?
