I do have a bit of a small predicament though: I’m getting married in mid March. This will be my 3rd airline, so I wasn’t expecting expecting to apply, interview, and get a CJO so quickly (entire timeline was maybe a month from first app to CJO). Also at my last two trainings, we bid for sim slots and could pick patterns with specific days off and some even had ample chunks of time off throughout. A conversation with a friend recently hired indicates you show up for 2 weeks, home study for 5, then 3 more weeks for sims. And that your sim and partner are scheduled for you, no bidding.

With that in mind, it seems like there would be no flexibility once the training footprint begins, you just get what you get? I only need 2-3 days off for the wedding itself, no honeymoon or anything yet. Is the simplest solution to select a date where the 5 week home study includes those couple of days?
Congrats! I also interviewed this week and got the good news last night.

Awesome. I expected to go to review board and was nervous, so relieved to get the good news.

Oh really? Cool. I’m ready to start ASAP, I’d be here in 2 weeks if that had been an option haha. I also know delaying start a few weeks won’t derail a 3 decade+ career. Just want to know what to expect and not make waves on my first day at work (or at home with my other half).

Yeah I’d only need maybe one block of 3 days. Buy a round trip ticket: fly home, wedding, fly back. I assume someone from training will eventually reach out with class date options, so I should just pick first available and then start asking them then?

Interview in early December, any chance of a class date in January or those filled up? (Obviously, assuming hired)

Since they aren't hiring in December they will probably run several jumbo classes in January. You still have a shot if you tell them you specifically want an early date after you get the CJO.

Based on the classes I hear of people being awarded and the time its taking to assign classes, I would bet for a Feb date if youre interviewing in Dec.

Default No March Classes

There's chatter in an interview prep group chat that I'm in that there are no March new hire classes. Anyone else heard anything about this or know a reason why?

Haven't you heard? The world is coming to an end. The sky is falling. Film at 11.
