They don't tell you why you get sent to the Review Board. My guess would be low time and or some kind of hiccup in your career, ie, a failed checkride or something that raises suspicion. But honestly, only they truly know. I got sent to the board but got the CJO after my application was reviewed. So, getting sent to the board, while disappointing , is certainly not a death sentence.

As for the interview prep, I personally didn't feel it was necessary. Just use 'aviationinterviews.com' and you should be fine. That's what I did. Good luck!

Most people who reported in this thread going to the review board went because, they think, they had low or zero PIC time. A few had some sort of logbook issue. So don’t be surprised or disappointed at all if you go to the review board with zero PIC. Probably should just expect it, tbh. Good news is that it appears a lot of people go to the next review board that Thursday and hear back that Friday. They hold review boards most Thursdays. Others have had to wait several weeks, but there’s no readily apparent rhyme or reason to it.

Speaking of which, anyone heard back recently??

The day I interviewed, I believe there were 3 interview groups. Early morning, mid morning, and about a Noon show time. I had no idea they interviewed in multiple groups; guess I just failed to scour the forum appropriately. From what I could tell, each group had 9 applicants in it. Of the first 18 interviewed, only 6 received on-the-spot CJOs. I can tell you of the 6 in my group that didn’t, at least 3 had 1000 Turbine PIC if not more. Several Frontier CAs, ex-military both RW & FW, didn’t get the immediate. Guys I interviewed with who have already started have told me training will not be surprised in the next year if WB FO drops start happening for New Hires. I would say don’t let your guard down for your AA interview, even if you’ve successfully had others. There was very little “softball” questions to get you warmed up. I had probably 7-8 and they were A.) pretty challenging and “deep thoughtish” but also previously advertised in other locations so I had at least contemplated them roughly before hand.

0% chance that new hires will get a WB slot in the next decade.

they always “could” but there will never be a true need to. They can put whatever they want in a new hire drop

Recently received the "thanks, but no thanks" from AA (0 TPIC, ~800 TSIC). I got the letter saying to reapply in a year, but just curious if anyone knows whether or not I can reapply before then or if it's a hard requirement. TIA.

Hey all, so what's the fine print in the CJO - i.e. what are the conditions? If I get that far I am considering resigning more than two weeks before class date to ameliorate the lifestyle hit. Would actually like to resign before CJO since I have other offers on the table but I have always heard that being unemployed is a red flag. A red flag at every stage?

No, don't resign when you get the CJO... Delay your resignation until you have a class date. I had almost 2 months from CJO to class start and ended up getting 5 weeks notice prior to class start.

Not saying I recommend it, but I resigned about 5 weeks before starting at AA. I didn't have an AA offer yet, but had an offer at another carrier. After I resigned, I interviewed with AA, got CJO then emailed a few people I could find to try to get an earlier class date explaining my situation. In the end, I think it got me a class date at least a month earlier due to the June break.

Anyone know how AA contacts you if you don’t get CJO same day, go to PRB, and if PRB meets same week as your interview, how long does it take to hear back?
