I have a friend and she wants to apply … but according to her, she lost her first logbook and there is no way to recover the info to make a new one…
She have a total of 12.000hrs and over 6000hrs PIC….
I told her to apply anyway…

Anyone here had a similar problem? Thoughts?

Thank you!

not that I know, but top of my head get records from IACRA applications, past employments if it’s in her first logbook, and I believe you can fill out an affidavit. I’m sure little research can help. Good luck to her!

This was my exact scenario as I lost my logbook from when I first started flying (in the late nineties). I truly have no idea how many hours were in that logbook, but I knew that I had fulfilled all requirements to take my PPL checkride. When I retired from the USAF, I reached out to my FSDO, who told me it wasnt a big deal and just make an approximation of those hours. So when I filled out my 8710 for my ATP I simply included 40 hours SEL on the application (for context I had almost 3000 hours at the time so those 40 hours had no impact on qualifying for the ATP). I provided that 8710 and a notarized statement from me explaning everything and when they reviewed my logbook, they didn't have a single question about it.
When American Airlines sent me info about thier logbook requirements, I actually called them thinking I needed to delay my interview in order to fulfill the requirements. They told me not to worry about it.

Is a 3 month gap between CJO and class fairly standard right now?

I believe it is for those that are with a contract carrier for AA. I think my company cried "Uncle" and asked to slow the pain down.

Just under 2 months for me and I currently fly for Air Wisconsin (AA contracted). I wouldnt be surprised if they fill classes by the number of hours you have and not by interview/CJO date. A couple of pages ago, someone interviewed a week after me but recieved their class invite call a week prior to me. They had >5k TT (if I remember correctly) to my >2900 TT.
