It’s my understanding that they try to balance the classes based on background. They want some military and corporate mixed in with 121.

Default Hiring

Seems like as good a place as any to ask this.

Got about 2500 hours military time but no ATP. Plan was to get hired by Envoy or Piedmont or PSA to get to American one day.

Currently separated, not on Reserves or Guard. Got the CTP course and the written knocked out.

Would go Delta but want to be based near Chicago one day, not sure the best way to go about getting there.

Seems like it'd be good to finish up my ATP with a Regional and get some recent flying time, but it sounds like AA may not want to hire me right away.

You should join RTAG Nation on Facebook to answer a lot of questions specific to vets. I know many vets, no ATP or jet time, that went straight to a major airline without stopping at a regional. Then again, if you aren't current, time at a regional will fix that as well as giving you a dose of 121 experience. As far as I know, the only thing that might slow your progression to a major is joining a wholly owned for that major. I.E. going to PSA will be the slowest way to get to AA. The majors prefer to hire their competitors' pilots.

Thanks!

I appreciate that and I'll into that Facebook group. I don't want to do it but worst case they won't hire me and I just join Southwest and get stationed in Chicago.

Tell your SkyWest friends it’s worth the wait. They’ll get treated much better at AA.
Reading your post history you’re not considering a big factor in why it only took you three weeks to be in NH class at AA. You had CJO’s to Southwest and Delta. American’s hiring department did not consider you a Captain at SkyWest anymore lol. You were a special circumstance.

On the flip side if you spent the time and effort to interview and successfully receive CJO’s to 3 Majors you probably deserved the special treatment.

Do NOT go to a regional. With your resume, here's what you should do:
1. Get ATP ASAP
2. Update/create apps with AA and UAL at the very least (major ORD hub for both)
3. Sit back and watch those interview offers show up in your inbox

You're a commodity for legacies to fight over. Why go for a regional when your resume is perfect for a legacy?

Hello guys, i dont know if this is the place to ask for help… but im having the interview on the 23th. AA is asking me to fulfill PRIA forms and NDR, but the AA credentials is giving me an error and i cant log in the last couple of days.

The pria form can be found in the faa website but they are completely blank. Can someone send me this forms with AA information through dm or email? I would love to have this done as soon as i can.

Thanks!

I would contact the talent hotline and see what they want you to do in the event the website stays down.
