What Fly76 said. Bus footprint is 29 days. But before that there's BI which is 10 days. Between Bus and BI there's about a 3.5 week break.

Thanks guys. And as far as metal, does that bid happen right away or later into indoc? I'm about to be typed in the 737 at another career in a few days but this plane is dreadful(only one they fly. Guess who). Want to go back to the bus and hopefully PHX base. Interview scheduled.

You bid on whatever is available on day 1. Seniority is based on age, so the oldest person gets the first bid. Be prepared for all east coast.

just so you are aware too, the bus isn’t at every AA base. So if you are wanting ORD or BOS, that’s 737. Some people don’t know that. Just like PHX is only a 320 base. And if you are young then you are more than likely going to the 73 in LGA if you are in the middle of age you can get a 320 but where is anyone’s guess each drop. But you will be able to switch bases within a vacancy if not through the unions Mutual Base Exchange.

My timeline...

1. Interview at WAI on 24 Feb,
2. CJO 25 Feb (at the conference)
3. Indoc paperwork completed 27 Feb.
4. BI completed 2 Mar.
5. Drug Screen/Fingerprints on 3 Mar.
6. Class date confirmed for 29 Mar.

Great experience every step of the way. Recruiting/onboarding team was on the ball. Best of luck.

Any idea how far out from availability AA is sending interview invites? My app has been in a month, have a mid-October availability. Have all pre-reqs, will be retired mil heavy pilot.

Trying to be patient, but just want to make sure its not me (or my app)!

This website has been a great resource. Thanks for all the insights.
