Are they at least doing interviews? Like if you still have an interview scheduled for later this year is it still going to be on in? You’re just put in the pool? Or are interviews canceled as well?

I know of one person who is interviewing on the 26th, they said they’ve not been told the interview is off yet.

cool. For those that are given a CJO, is there an expiration date?

Let’s say things get really bad and if you have been swimming in the new hire pool for over year do you have to reapply?

the email:

Thank you again for your patience and understanding throughout the hiring process and congratulations once again on your conditional job offer (CJO). We continue to think you are the best of the best, and are very eager to have you join the American Airlines team.

Though you continue to have a CJO with American, we've paused new-hire pilot class dates for the remainder of the year as part of the ongoing evaluation of our commercial and talent needs. We expect to make decisions about pilot class dates for the first quarter of 2025 later this year and will provide you with an update as soon as possible.

In the meantime, please know that we value your interest in joining American and look forward to welcoming you to our flight decks in the future.

Sincerely,

Captain Russ Moore

Vice President, Flight Operations

Is this due to the Max or GE engine issue? I’m a dumb cargo pilot. I thought AA would keep hiring quick with all their retirements.

FYI

You may have received an email stating that classes will be paused through the end of the year. We apologize for any confusion. Please note with you already starting class with us, this announcement will not affect your current schedule.

Please reach out with any additional questions.

Best regards,

pilot recruitment

That was sent to people who already started class in May who were mistakenly sent the message that was intended to be sent to those who were supposed to start this fall.
