I am curious as to how and why they select certain people from certain classes to backfill earlier open slots. Offering 15 and 22 May candidates an earlier class in that month or even a month early and yet I haven't heard from recruiting offering me an early class date being an 8 May candidate. It must be that I have that U.S. Army stink on me!! JK of course

After the CJO, and once the emails with a real HR person started being exchanged ... that's when I let them know that I was interested in taking an earlier date should one become available.
Dunno if that is somehting you tried, but it worked for me.

In my case, I specifically raised the topic with a member of the recruiting department.

I suggest reaching out to the training department if you haven’t yet, but from what I heard this morning from someone in the 5/1 class is that all the April classes are full right now.

Pilot application.
I have a few questions about the American Airlines pilot online application.
The first one is I flew corporate for this company and they did not consider me an employee, I was a “1099 contractor” should I still put that as an employer?
also, the second thing is when I’m putting my hours in a Cessna 172, you can only put it for PIC, SIC, or instructor. There is no areas to put just simply total time.
during my private pilot training, most of it is total time and not PIC or SIC. so how did you guys log this because my total time on the application is not gonna match up with my logbook with this method.
