In that case. Bottom LGA new hire now will move up 25% in three months. Not bad.

Man, can't help but look at that and wonder if cutting the 330 and 767 were good moves?

Close to 45 widebodies gone. If some of the lesuire/VFR stuff United and Delta are doing works you think that they will move quickly and take a bunch or share. I would especially worry about losing share in NYC, LAX, ORD, and in the MIA and DWF markets that compete longhaul southbound with United and to some extent Delta.

I think that AA will always be strong in LHR and MAD because of the JV but that's just a handful of markets. The other long-haul stuff that's not supported by a JV is going to tougher to keep afloat - especially China. I also worry that AA doesn't have the airplanes to test out non biz markets like UAL and DL have been doing.

Anyway, just a ramble but of the big 3 it's hard to not think that UAL is winning the recovery

I think if we were hurting from losing the 76/330 we’d be staffing the 787 better and accepting deliveries a little faster.

Isn’t it more that Boeing is behind on the 78 deliveries? Thought I read that we aren’t getting anymore deliveries this year but we are supposed to be getting them.

That's what I heard as well. As bummed as I am that we're no longer flying the 757, I can't say I'm not happy that we're replacing 767s with 787s. Were other airlines flying 767s around for 10 bucks an hour more than their narrowbodies? Eff that.

Delta 12 year CA 767 (7ER in Delta-speak): $296, 737-900/A321: $286
Delta 12 year FO: $202, $195

So… yes?

If those numbers are wrong, blame APC.

I think the 767-300 makes up the vast majority of their widebody fleet. I imagine they will be replacing the 7ER with higher paying 330/350s, much like AA is doing with the 787.

IIRC the number of 787s still to be delivered is around 48, so over the next few years that will replace the 330s and 767s lost, with a few to spare.

Big question though is: will any 777s be retired?

Any truth that AA (or Boeing) is still paying the leases for the 330s?

BTW I find the Boeing WB cockpits to be pretty small. Let's not mention that thing between your legs, I'll have Al comment on it.
