Three questions:

1. Is the "year" on the pay scales based on the year of employment or in that position (ie: is year 5 737 captain pay for someone who has been at American for five years, someone whos been a captain for 5 years or, for someone who has been a 737 captain for 5 years?)

2. Is the airline pilot central profile on American more up to date or the pilot job central profile (https://pilotjobcentral.com/pilot-jo...ican-airlines/). The reason I'm asking is because the pay scale is lower on pilot job central but has info that airline pilot central is missing (Monthly Pay Guarantees, Long Call Reserve Pay Guarantee, Short Call Reserve Pay Guarantee, Most Junior Captain Hired, etc.).

3. I couldn't find anything regarding domicile seniority post merger. If it is already out there, directions to finding it would be greatly appreciated or the collective knowledge would be awesome.

I am brand new to this (first post) so if im in the wrong thread, I apologize, but I truly appreciate the help and Merry Christmas!!!!

To answer your first questions the “year” is based off of company longevity. So if you’ve been at AA for 5 years and upgrade you’ll be at year 5 CA pay for the equipment you’re flying.

The numbers of WO pilots being hired off the street to nearly anywhere but AA kind of disproves that. It does happen but not nearly as often as WO pilots going to UA etc

PSA ALPA pilot attrition numbers for November:
Total pilot attrition - 54
Total flow to AA - 10
Total off the street to AA - 2...

12 to AA total, 2 OTS. The other 42 are largely riding that PSA flow to Delta, United, FedEx, UPS.

AA is not going to deplete staff at their cheap regional while simultaneously paying each pilot an extra $100k minimum in the process.

Lots of good information in this thread that has answered a lot about the process, thank you! I received the interview invite on Dec.15. I have completed the assessment and other info tabs. Interview scheduled for mid January. So far I haven't received anything else. Understandably it's Christmas time so it is what it is. My question is besides the PRIA docs, what else has the company asked guys to bring in for paperwork on the day of the interview? I'd like to get started on getting my ducks in a row. Very excited about the opportunity.

my stats:
LCC A320 FO
Prior CRJ Captain, Instructor and Recruiter
TT 5,900 TPIC 2,600
B.A. poli sci
Civilian
