Kind of an odd question. I was invited to interview, been on FMLA since July 15 due to complications when my wife gave birth. My return to work date was Nov, waiting for our training dep to get me requaled. Any idea if the lack of flying the past 4 months can/will hurt me in the interview process? My pilot credentials still shows date last flown 7/2021, so shouldn't be a surprise when my logbook is fairly empty the past few months. Just curious.

I highly doubt it. They need pilots badly. I met a pilot at a hotel in DFW, was going through indoc, had received a CJO in March of 2020 (but no class date). He took another Active Duty military assignment due to Covid (figuring he needed to have a job, and the airline hiring would not pick up for a while. They put him through indoc recently and are letting him finish his 3 year active duty assignment. That was unheard of before Covid, would never happen.
I mean good for that guy; but I still can't believe that is a thing now. Walk off AD and right into 3rd yr pay and a line. Wow.

This is bananas. All AD dudes/dudettes out there reading this. The precedent has been set. Save up your leave if you need to. Put your apps in, get hired, and burn your 20 days for indoc and get that line number.

Well, it’s probably a one off. They understood that he had to take another active duty assignment, but elected to hire him on anyway. Awesome move by the company, and a touchdown for this guy.

I think I know that guy...he's in my former Reserve squadron. He and I talked about his options back in March 2020...I was hoping for the best for him and apparently it worked out well.
