I hit 1000 part 121. 2500 total. 1300 turbine. No college degree. All civilian. 1st generation pilot. Let's see what happens. I see AA as the leader in promoting
diversity and growth of all backgrounds. However it seems it's always the military folks, high time, and majority that get the call back. Minorities have a tougher time it seems.

Here's a better one from this past December - "I'm at 1600 hrs. 600 MEL, 300 hrs jet. If the majors don't hire me in the by the end of the summer
I'll apply to the regionals."
Who's left in the game? AA/DL/UA, Atlas, Alliegiant, Frontier? With the reduction in demand how many 2,000 hr non turbine PIC, 1 jet type rating, no 121, candidates will be getting hired? Don't think you're going to be the four leaf clover unicorn because you saw one of those. Instead work on aiming towards the dead center of the hiring circle - regional 121, more type ratings, TPIC ASAP, more hours, more experience, ASAP.
I'll apply to the regionals."

AA has hired the least so far of the big guys, and still has the most retirements. AA will certainly continue to hire more going forward than anyone else even without today's announcement of more airplanes. With the announcment, it will be the most hiring by a lot.

If I may ask, what are your (and the others) qualifications like? Any idea how they filter potential m&g suitors?
