[QUOTE=iLikeMoose;3648403]Just got a CJO at another legacy. Of course I feel very lucky to have that, and will happily go there, but my family and my wife's family live in DFW, and they aren't getting any younger...
I have had a couple people tell me that others have had success emailing AA to tell them they have a legacy CJO elsewhere, and have gotten an interview shortly after that. That doesn't quite rub me right, almost feels pretentious, but figured I would ask if anybody knows anything about that or has an opinion on it?[/QUOTE
Mixed bag. Your best bet is to leave then update you application for AA at the new legacy.

they will ask you in the interview as well, just be honest but they all seem to be that way

I searched this forum on this topic but didn't find what I needed.
I was talking to someone who had interviewed at AA recently and he said that three people in his interview group were sent home because the recruiters would not accept digital logbooks (i.e. a digital logbook professionally printed and bound with every page signed).
Was he correct or blowing smoke? The thought of transcribing a few thousand hours of 121 time into a paper logbook after I intentionally stopped doing that years ago makes me want to stick a poker in my eyes.

I’m in training now. I printed out my logbook, had it professionally bound, signed each page and brought it to my interview in April. They had no issue with it. I received a CJO that day. What they said they didn’t like was someone bringing their iPad with their electronic logbook.

It is fun to fly with the pilots that work in hiring and hear all of the stories. The dumb things that some people do when they come in for an interview is amazing.
The best advice is to remove as much stress from the interview as possible. Logbook...print it out and put it in a fancy binder. Documents...print them all and have a spare set of copies just in case. Interview prep...do it!
Do all of the little things right and it removes the stress from the interview.

Does anyone know what times are competitive to get an interview at AA? I'm pretty low time (2,000 TT, 400 jet) but have all instructor ratings, gold seal CFI, most of my jet time is in the B-767, 4 year degree, 0 training failures, 0 student failures (23 students).
I'm thinking somewhere around 1,000 jet would get my foot in the door, but not sure if it's higher or lower.
Any insight would be appreciated!
