The vast majority of the top 200 A320 CA's will be retired by 2028 (assuming age 65 doesn't change). Current junior CLT CA is seniority 10k. There should be a lot of movement in that bid status over the next few years. My totally unscientific guess would be 3-6 years.

Yeah I don't think China will come back to LAX for AA. I think the plan was to move that PVG slot up to SEA and use Alaska Airlines as feed. I agree regarding Japan. There are a lot more connections onwards from Japan using our JAL partnership. After our big investment in China Southern Airlines it would seem like there would be an opportunity to fly to Guangzhou and connect passengers onwards through CSA. But for whatever reason (maybe Covid) we aren't operating that route.
Our head of Network Planning, Brian Znotins, recently said "Delta and United have stronger coastal hubs and gateways and also have more extensive connecting hubs in Europe. We're much stronger in Heathrow by comparison but Heathrow doesn't lend itself well to connecting markets in continental Europe, Asia, and Africa. But make no mistake we are competing and will continue to do so. We are adding more seats to our WB fleets and have a number of aircraft on order that will grow our long haul options. Everyone is excited about the 50 321XLRs but we're also getting another 787-9s, so while Delta and United may be grabbing the headlines today I think it will be a different story in years to come." As you’ve mentioned the plan was to shift the China flying to SEA and use Alaska for feed. Then here comes COVID. We announced SEA to BLR India, then here comes the war in Ukraine (must over fly Russia for this route). I am the first to blame our management for their shortfalls, but the west coast to Asia strategy has consistently had something come up to screw up their plans.

China is a S-show with their zero COVID policy. Are we even able to fly there now without stopping in ICN? They’re absurd.

Do you have some public figures, maybe from UAL investor relations that break down in detail UAL’s profits from LAX to China? I’ll wait here.

I would've guessed the lower end of your time range. I'm contemplating taking an upgrade with an easier commute rather than waiting until I can hold it in CLT. We'll see.

btw, you’ll notice in my posts that I never insult anybody, yet you continue to do that. If that’s your retort to me, you’re only embarrassing yourself. Just a little FYI

I’ve noticed on the application portal that aircraft flight time has PIC, SIC and nowhere to put flight time that was neither (like while in training.) Does everyone just accept a lower actual Total Time on their apps?

An answer from their frequently asked questions:A: Here are the guidelines:
- PIC (Pilot In Command) = Any time you signed for the plane as aircraft commander
or solo including all instructor time. - SIC (Second In Command) = Any time you acted as second in command and/or didn't sign for the plane.
This DOES include dual/student time. - Instructor = Only the time you logged as an instructor, regardless of the time being reported in PIC.
Instructor time is PIC time. It belongs in both columns.
