Default 2023 projections?

As someone who was interviewed early November and got a CJO I’ve seen the massive hiring numbers for 2022 but wonder if I’ve fallen on the tail of this hiring spree. Has there been any hiring projections for 2023?

Also dying to leave my current job… hoping to not wait too long for a training date…

The current hiring plan is for over 2,000 new hires in 2023 and another 2,000+ in 2024, you’re still at the front of the biggest hiring wave in our lifetimes.

Man it’s hard to believe that there are that many qualified candidates out there. And then both UAL and DAL will be doing the same… Where are all these people coming from? We’re going to be competing with regionals soon and I’m not even being hyperbolic here.

In the next 5 years starting with Jan 1, 2023 AA will lose exactly 4000 pilots to mandatory retirements. 7060 pilots in 10 years. I think you’ll be fine.

The numbers definitely don’t seem to work unless we absorb the regionals but management seems to think they can get all of the RJs staffed again in a couple of years.

Seems like a difficult task. They hired like ~1800 this year and September CJOs are getting February class dates.

I think you are right, we will likely drop the ATP requirement and hire 1500 hour pilots within 4 years. This would likely force us to bring the WO’s in house. Also, this is what will force AA to offer DAL rates and retro..QOL items will need to be worked on though.

you are still early. I bet they hire 2000+ for at least the next 3 years. Only things that might change that would be a merger (unlikely) or parking a bunch of aircraft (also unlikely).

There’s one in DFW on the 14th but everyone is keeping it close to the vest this time and not sharing the link. Good luck on slipping in!
