It’s a serious deficiency in our contract, every new hire (hired LAA side since 2014) should be asking to fix this and voting accordingly in elections. But, APA gives zero F*(ks about it, many don’t even realize that this isn’t industry standard. It sounds small, but there are a few large raises early in the pay scale, like year 1 to 2, and then a pay raise for 12 years. Delay raises by 3 months…12 times, apply time value of money to it, and it probably costs each new hire about $20k.

We’ve hired about 4500 LAA side since 2014, you’d think they would make a stink over this.

As an FNG myself, once I learned of this, I don't care for it at all and agree we need to push to change it. With the surge in hiring, folks are looking at 5 to 6 months from indoc to their completion date. No bueno.

Then there’s the more visible delay of 401k DC, while the flow that you’re sitting next to in indoc is starting day 1. Not a great look.

Someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think it’s your scheduled, not actual completion date? In my case (the latest class) that’s 3 months.

Still should be changed though.

specifically I’ve seen class drops with dca 320 only. Are most of the 4day trips domestic routes?

Yes. DCA 320 is more or less the same as the other domiciles when it comes to 4 day trips. For an international category it doesn’t appear to do a lot of international layovers, let alone international flying.
