Im just going to start this by saying that I don’t have a legal degree, not from Google, or anywhere else, and I didn’t stay at a Holiday Inn Express last night, so I could very well be wrong.
There were basically 4 different vaccine mandates; an OSHA mandate for large employers, a healthcare worker mandate, a federal employee mandate, and a federal contractor mandate. The OSHA mandate is what SCOTUS overturned, but they upheld the healthcare mandate. There are injunctions against the federal employee and federal contractor mandates, as is stated in the article.
In my opinion, the federal employee and contractor mandates will stand. Why? SCOTUS told the fed that they can’t force private businesses to get the jab, but by telling hospitals that they can enforce the jab, I feel they’re telling businesses that they CAN require employees to get vaxxed. Federal employees and contractors fall under the Executive branch (which is why Federal employees working at the Capitol have to be vaxxed, but not members of Congress). If you think of the executive branch as a business, then there’s no reason for them to overturn the mandate. They could strike down the contractor mandate, but the fed could still give preference to businesses that require vaccinations. (How long has federal highway money been tied to a legal drinking age?) There is also precedence based on a SCOTUS ruling that states can require residents to get vaccinated. I think SCOTUS basically told Biden that he overstepped his authority with the OSHA mandate, but other mandates will stand.
But I’m just a dumb pilot and this is my opinion.

Hi - anyone know what to do with the "Success Factors" account after you create it? I received the interview invite and selected a date on Pilot Credentials. However, instructions don't seem very clear - I reset password and added basic personal information, but when you select careers/job applications it takes you back to the AA Pilot Credentials site. Am I overthinking this?

For those previously asking about the timeline from interview to class date; I interviewed the first week of January and went with option 2 (class date once background check complete). I’ll be starting Indoc on 9 February. At least one individual that went with option 1 is starting on 2 Feb.

The dates to choose from on PC probably aren't the only ones available; aka if you need farther out, I'm sure it's workable. Email [email protected] and I'm sure they'll help you get it squared. If I were you though, I'd use your sick/PTO and interview ASAP. At the current rate, waiting a month will cost you 250 lines worth of seniority. If you have any other questions feel free to PM. Good luck.

They're interviewing 90 to 100/week for a class of 70/week. More CJOs to build up a "supply" than slots. There is a wait/backlog, however you want to look at it. The wait is around 2 to 3 weeks to hear about a class date and then that class is, on average, 2 to 3 weeks in the future. So maxed out plan for 6 weeks from CJO to butt in the seat at indoc. Congrats and be patient. Of course if you're at that 3 weeks of comm out, email them. I would too. Welcome and don't sweat the negativity on here. Most if not all is out of our control anyway. Enjoy the new chapter!
