There is no access card. Gate agent gives the 1W based on their WebRef guidance. CA has very little say, even though some RPA guys think they can force the gate agents to do what they want.

Sorry. I guess I just assumed. Our process is that the gate agent clears jumpseats in the order established by their SOPs. They give the next person in line a boarding pass for whichever jumpseat they’ll be occupying. They are not allowed to skip. The captain can say no jumpseaters or they can accept them in the correct order. There is no in between. Sorry for assuming you are RPA!

Lol you are delusional and uneducated. On a YX AA flight I take D6 YX pilots over D2 FDJ all the time. The gate agents very much do what the CA says.

Lol, no prob. I know it’s a hot topic right now. Although, I’m a little surprised that APA doesn’t have more of a “The Captain ultimately decides who rides or doesn’t ride” type policy. Good luck to all of y’all. Nobody wants a Jumpseat war.

AAG pilots let the gate agent dictate who rides in the JS? Wow.

Don't know what to tell ya then. My advice would be to note to the gate agent your time arrival at the gate. Better hope there isn't a Southwest guy already waiting in line by the time you get there and is checking in for the jumpseat. I can tell you what that is like trying to commute home after flying AA pairings for the whole month.

AAG pilots don’t generally start jumpseat wars.

How is it a jumpseat war? Are your feathers really that ruffled for receiving the EXACT SAME priority? I'm sorry. You enjoyed the priority for years. This is APA who chose this for you.

That is the correct order per their guidance. Not sure what you are trying to say.

Anyway. Come June 1st, this will all be handled and you will return to the old ways.

I’m opposed to unilateral changes in the status quo. You can try and spin it however you want. But in reality, you are behaving like little children who are throwing a tantrum. It isn’t going to go well for you. And if your union proceeds knowing the planned response, they are doing you a massive disservice.
