Jumpseat Battle Brewing

what you think of it is irrelevant. That’s what a reciprocal Jumpseat agreement is. It is an agreement equally binding on both parties. The stipulation and details will be enumerated within the agreement.
I have seen them on 1/2 a page, and I’ve seen them 4-6 pages long. There is nothing requiring exactly the same level of service. It’s a reciprocal agreement to carry each others pilots. Who, when, how many, or anything else can be included in the agreement.

Reciprocal means both parties have both an obligation to the other parties and are the recipient of a guarantee from the other party. It does not mean the terms are equal.
Here is the Lectic Law Library’s definition of a reciprocal agreement:
One in which the parties enter into mutual engagements. They are divided into perfect and imperfect. When they are perfectly reciprocal, the obligation of each of the parties is equally a principal part of the contract, such as sale, partnership, etc. Contracts imperfectly reciprocal are those in which the obligation of one of the parties only is a principal obligation of the contract; as, mandate, deposit, loan for use, and the like. In all reciprocal contracts the consent of the parties must be expressed.
Edit: That last sentence is why y’all’s BS is complete garbage. You aren’t altering the agreement, making changes without consent is violating the terms of the agreement.

It really doesn’t matter if the agreement states anything specific about priorities. I’m pretty sure it does, but that’s irrelevant. There is a long established prior practice and you’re attempting to change the status quo unilaterally. That’s not how contract law works. It’s also a very stupid move, because you’re essentially voiding the agreement, which can have effects that reach beyond just the jumpseat.

But I'm interested in your moral reasoning. Do the terms really not matter? What if they favor Republic's way, wouldn't they be right in that case? Or what if they favor APA's way, then wouldn't you want that to be able to stand on? What if they say nothing and are open to interpretation? Then what is your argument against mutual OAL?
If they really didn't matter, why did you bring them up in the first place?

AA owns the reservation system people use to list for the jumpseat on AA branded flights. Do they even give RAH pilots access to see it? Hmmm. So the RAH pilots are counting on AA to make sure to tell them who is listed and what order….so they can try to accommodate other pilots ahead of AA pilots, on AA branded flights. Again, I don’t see this working out the way the RAH pilots think it will.
