Jumpseat Battle Brewing
#1091
When republic is at an AA gate with an AA gate agent, it appears some babysitting will need to be done by the agent to ensure the priority list is followed correctly. We are following the list so it won’t be an issue. The issue will arise when a republic captain doesn’t follow the list. Pretty sure the memo and instruction they receive from their superiors will clue them into the situation and allow our flights to go without a hitch. Since it’s our company and all. A republic flight with some priority issues, not so much

They would be sent down and turned away. Or, the captain would notice ahead of time and tell the gate agent they would not be occupying the jumpseat. The next person would be sent down. That doesn’t change.

Sorry to tell you AA does not own the YX JS. You should be angry at APA not us for lowering you to equal priority.

So the CA will not follow the priority and instruct the gate agent to violate company policy and the AAG CA will take whoever is next on the priority list... Interesting because you all said that was impossible.

If AA agents are instructed to award the jumpseat according to AA policy and the captain has a different list according to his/her...... FOM, the AA agent would be in charge of who gets to ask for a ride. If the agent won’t deviate from their company policies, they just don’t approve the next guy and the captain would be powerless to do anything about it.
