If their managers tell them not to clear out of order, do you think they’re going to go against their managers wishes or the wishes of a captain from a different company? I think they’re going to do what their manager tells them and if the flight goes late it isn’t their fault. Just my guess. That’s out APAs control
This is how out of touch you are. I’m asked all time about JS priority being that we are a separate carrier. Most gate agents know it’s the Captains seat. Unlike you, who thinks it belongs to the gate agent.

You guys are completely delusional if you think your scheme will work.

Oh the conflict will come later when they get a call from their superiors asking why in the bloody hell an AA pilot didn't get the jumpseat on an American Flight when he was first in priority and then had to be A-passed to work, kicking a paying customer off a flight in the process.

It would be perfectly reasonable for the gate agent to say “the Captain said so, so that’s what I did” and not get in trouble. It’s kinda awful that your pushing for your gate agents to get in trouble if they do what the Captain wants with THEIR Jumpseat. And you guys call us the bullies.

It would be so not reasonable. You don't seem to understand that there are rules and that these rules came about because of agreements. If you really think you have total control over your jumpseat, what's stopping you from disregarding priority completely and making guys draw straws or roll dice for the jumpseat?
An agreement you’ve never read, so stop saying we broke it because you have no idea. Also, the Captain could absolutely disregard priority but the Union would probably remove their own JS privileges. This is pretty basic stuff here.

LOL, you guys have an over inflated idea of yourselves. The gate agent is going to do exactly what it says on his/her screen per AA policy. You can kick, scream and delay all you like.
Feel free to explain the delay to your CP that you were fighting over the AA gate agent following AA boarding priority on an AA flight.
