Frankly, the product sucks and customers aren't pleased.
The pay is on par with Frontier. The work rules are worse than Spirit. Generally you aren't capable of trading or dropping trips. There's a ton of 4am check ins for 5am departures with trips ending between 9pm and 1am. It's management by memo, and the disconnect between the management and operational side of this company may be the biggest one in corporate America. Flights are late? Push out a memo telling pilots they can't use the Lav within ten minutes of departure for the win.
Something for the young guys to consider when planning their careers.

Some of this is just wrong. As a 7th year bus captain i make $55/hr more than a frontier captain. Plus spirit has plenty of 3 days worth 10-11 hours like we used to before ACD and i highly doubt frontier has ACD.
Go look at the contract comparisons. The ULCCs literally lag AA in almost every department. Delta/United/SWA is a different story.
Now the rest of your gripes are valid. We have lots of work to do. Hopefully we get a solid contract and management gets their act together.

not disagreeing with the rest of your post but how do you figure your pay is on par with Frontier. I see a $33/hr difference between 12 year A320 CA and a $39/hr between 5 year A320 FO (biggest difference is year 3 FO is about $50/hr). Plus you get 16% DC vs their 12% and they do not get any profit sharing.

Any contract stipulation regarding work rules can easily have a 5% effect on take home pay per time spent away from home. Delta's premium pay language alone would be worth way way more than 5% to me.
Some airlines can still conflict bid their lines and get trips dropped with pay. Doing that every other month would be worth way more than 5%.

According to this website, a 12 year Frontier captain makes 245 an hour, and according to my contract I make 256.43. Frankly 11 an hour doesn't buy much in terms of tolerating bad work rules. Don't forget those guys got a big raise in January. Our profit sharing is about two weeks pay. Nice, but a fraction of Delta's.

12 year captain is 278.77 for 12 year 320/737 captain at AA.
