So with this drop posting in another thread:
Might be time to bump this thread for all the hopefuls.
I know the general advice is base first, equipment second, but any new info / news on the horizon that affects this?
Personally, I'm curious what the XLR trips are going to look like and how those will get doled out, but at the same time I'm still an RJ driver on the outside looking in. Those bonus checks though.....

I’d guess the XLR trips will go senior and be flown by PHL and CLT crews. They’ll probably be 3 day trips with 24 hr Europe layovers, MIA may have some going to So America as well which would be redeyes both ways.

If I remember correctly the 73 covers the 3 airports and the bus is only LAX. As far as the guys I've talked to on the 73, it's not as bad as NYC in terms of getting trips out of the satellites due to the guys who live there and pick up those trips.

Lately though the airbus has been covering the majority of ONT flying. I don’t know if this is a permanent thing or only a summer flying thing.

Thanks for the reply. So does the 73 have different reserve callout rules than the Airbus? I’ve heard it’s easier to sit reserve at home in SoCal on the 73 if you don’t live close to LAX.

Harkening back to my NH buds that were on SC in LA on the 737 (summer 2018), they had to cover all bases. They were miserable and had higher monthly Uber bills than I had booze bills. Shameful.
There is a separate deal for SAN 737 reserve bidding in PBS. Not my bag, so perhaps a 737 dude can weigh in and enlighten us

No, there is no difference for reserve callouts. In fact, SC has no contractual callout. Often, there is confusion because SNAP (short notice assignment procedures) had a 3h rule for LAX and a 2h rule for other bases. However, that does NOT equate to SC callout time.

Cool thanks for the reply. I know there are other differences to consider, but Ive been wondering if there are differences between the 737 and Airbus when it comes to reserve or how many airports you cover when you’re LAX based. I live in SoCal but not LA.
