That's exactly the problem with this pilot group. Too many beaten puppies.

We can't (and shouldn't) settle for industry standard. Set the bar higher.

I'm guessing the reason average day is better is because of the light loading on the front and back side and heavy in the middle.

Instead of a three day starting at 7am and ending at 10pm they can build something that starts at say 2pm and ends at 5pm. Days one and three are lighter with day two being a heavy credit day.

Just a hunch but I'm guessing the junior -88 schedules at DAL have you flying 4+ legs a day doing RJ flying which is fine but people here are complaining about the 737 RJ flying. I guess the alternative is better then, just outsource to the regionals so you don't fly it at all? Idiots.

Agree. No way we get better than a 2:1 duty rig or min calendar day.

I don’t think the pairings will get any worse with average calendar day. A redeye sucks whether it’s at the end of a trip or the middle. Those type trips are really the only ones that will probably change.

4 days that end with a redeye at 6am would be awesome. I’d bid those all day long. Hopefully they embed them on the back end.

I agree, we probably won’t get it, but they should definitely be asking for it. When you want an inch ask for a foot, and be willing to move back towards an inch.

I would too, and if transcon 1 leg each way red eyes stay the same, that’s probably all I’ll do. I’m sure there is a way for the company to tweak them though.

I would bid them occasionally, to get a nice west-coast layover and have more available commuter flights, but there is a price. That pre-redeye nap you planned on just never materializes, and you’re a zombie for your first day at home.

I’m a zombie my first day at home anyway. I would just rather it start at 8 in the morning rather than 8 at night!
