If that's the case the next few years will be a complete CF unless they get more sims and hire more instructors. The retirements are going to double in 2 years, and its probably mostly G4 guys (which generates the most movement).

Someone just posted on one of the AA Facebook pages that he asked the question at his interview on 3 Aug and "they said there weren't any plans to slow down". I'm quoting his response not AA pilot recruitment.

Not sure how this factors in but AA mainline was the only mainline carrier to shrink flying over the last quarter. It was around -1.5%. That's pretty significant when the other legacies are +2.5-3% and the LCCs such as SWA and jetBlue are +6-10%.

True but we are still dealing with the 'synergies' from the merger.
