I asked and it's hard to get intent from emails but it appeared to me that I was being put in my place.

Basic summary - 40 per class wasn't a fixed number, they're hiring exactly what they're told to (39,42,24,26,32??), few guys no show, and there's no known training bottlenecks.

Let’s do some quick math. Average of 33 per class, about 7 short of the target of 40 per class. That is not “they have fallen short by 15 - 20 people every class this year.”

Also stated a few comments ago, “A320 training is very backed up right now so that may be the unspoken reason that the classes have been smaller for the the last 3 starts.“ Makes sense.

First 2 class drops averaged 22% for the A320. Last 3 class drops averaged 13% for the A320. Kind of lends credence to that statement.

So I guess that 900 was total BS then. Oh well.

Would almost be better if they have a lower amount and pleasantly surprise.

Can’t speak to anyone else but I am in the Bus pipeline and will have about two weeks from end of INDOC to ground.

You hear of when the backup will be cleared and will go back to normal pipeline?

Well we are not receiving and 320s in 2018, and even the last bid had no 320 captain vacancies. Not surprising things slowed down on training.

That's not a backup. There are guys over at Piedmont who have had something like four months off. Lucky bastards.

Great use of capital.

Yeah, but for the next 2 years, I’d wager the bulk of retirements will be from the 320 fleet. I’ll check the age charts if I have time.

Well. Some of us on here tried to tell others that.
