I doubt that, we're still going to grow 3-4% in line with GPD and the retirements are aircraft are still coming.

Can someone in the Schoolhouse or someone that is friends with someone in hiring or in the Schoolhouse just ask what is going on? What is the plan?

This is not top secret, like the nuclear launch codes.

I realize it is too simple, but it would sure cut the speculation.

At the Jan rate, they are on track for the 920 plan. At the Feb rate, they are on track for less than last year’s 645 actual.

Word direct from the pilot hiring office was 950 in January.

From various sources, the issue is production. They're already farming out 737 Sims off site. They just don't have the capacity to handle everyone right now.

I dunno I was in Mecca for over a month doing transition training and it seemed pretty dead to me and that was during the regular working non-holiday days. Some sims were going but a lot were motionless with the gates down.

The CLT and PHX training centers were humming back a few years ago, the Dallas one just seemed really quiet for all this supposed hiring.

What airplane? I was there in December for the 737 and it was a big issue, and that was after my R9 was rescheduled from October because they didn't have a sim for me.

If your a Captain, how much do you truly value your less experienced FO’s opinion?
Actually, I was pretty clear. I said “Safest and most reliable”. I am not advocating selecting the oldest highest time guy, but come on! A 24 yo barely has there ATPwet. There are better and more qualified applicants available to invite to interview for this coveted position. Good for you for making it in your 20’s. Congratulations on being “hooked-up”

Don't all the Sims have to go down for a while this year for high altitude stall mods?

I was hoping to push my R18 into my grace month since I'd heard training was backed up. No luck. (A320 )

As I said, there are always better and more qualified. You don't think there are better and more qualified than you out there that never got the call?

You're coming across as jealous.

Share your qualifications with us.

Are you by chance at Envoy, with a no interview flow to AA? Is that fair to other, more qualified guys off the street being squeezed out by the corporation’s need for pilots at its regionals and its desire to continue military hiring?

My cousin had over a decades experience fling Gulfstreams around the world. Not a peep from AA, despite my attempts to help him. He seems to be doing just fine at FedEx.
