What’s the general advice for bidding if you were between a base with both domestic and international options? If you got say 737/D in LGA but your vacancy preferences are for 737 in another base which only has /I (not sure there are bases like that? Mia perhaps?) would that affect things? Is there additional training for the international designation, or just a separate status? Is the per diem override only when flying a true international leg, or if you’re /I do you still get the override on domestic legs? Thanks all

There is Extra training and the need for International OE. You get international per diem regardless of destination, or at least the WAS the case when I was in an INT status. I haven’t been in one since Covid started….

Domestic still goes to Canada and Mexico, save for routes that take you “off shore” over the Gulf like Cancun. International reserves can cover all domestic trips. Domestic reserves can only cover INT trips with no international legs.

the 737 INT LGA is extremely small, but growing for some reason

I believe it’s only DFW 320 that’s still split.

DFW 737 is combining to all INT in December, however there are rumors this may be delayed due to training capabilities and CKA availability.
