No. These are for the new hire class that start on 09/08. The junior most of the furloughees have at least commenced training (except for any possible deferrals).

I'll be a November new hire (flow). Can anyone shed some light on how long it'll take to hold CLT and ORD? TIA

The March 2022 vacancy bid (results out in early October) had a ton of CLT 320 and ORD 737 vacancies. Probably won’t get to new hires… but could get close.

Wow

If all the 737 LGA hires from the September classes are added, that means the junior LGA 737 pilot from the class in July will be at 75% before getting done with IOE.

Any thoughts which will be the better choice considering: ease of base cover, crashpad availability and accessibility, ease of commuting from DFW, quickest award of DFW transfer?
The LAX Airbus for Sep 22nd class is “international”. I’m assuming that’s not to say it’s only international flying from the LAX airports. Sounds like more exciting flying compared to domestic flying from NYC but I’ve been told most reserve flying out of NYC is either JFK or LGA; whereas LA flying is spread all over and the Uber ride is long and $$$. Trying to do some research before making any decisions. Thanks for any insight!

I am not based at any of these bases, never have been for that matter too, otherwise I would give you my thoughts…my gut tells me LA would be less painful, better weather and all…but I think someone going through it now could give you the best insights.

I’m not doubting your info, just curious where you’re seeing that on internal company/union sources? I see the Oct 6 and 20 classes planned, just not the added one… simply curious as to source is all. Good news for sure!

Also, not sure what’s up with every class being 737 “D” when CL said in one of his podcast things that NY is the next to combine all “I”… seems to make more sense to train them all now in “I”, but I’m sure it’s all part of a bigger plan I don’t see.

There's a much better chance you'll hold DFW sooner on the 737. LAX is an easier commute but commuting to reserve is not fun either way. In LGA you have to cover JFK/EWR, in LAX you'll cover ONT/SNA. There's plenty of crashpads in both cities. Just because you are in an International category doesn't mean you'll only fly to international destinations, some Mexico is domestic and Hawaii is international.

I can’t say which will allow getting to DFW first and that is a big part of this if you can figure that out. However, I’ve been based in both as a new guy and commute from the middle. I found LGA to be more challenging and painful. Also been on both aircraft and I’d much prefer the bus. You also get an extra hour on the commute in to LAX vs losing time going to LGA to start work. You would likely see most of the country from either base, but only HI from LAX. Many of the HI trips have redeye returns which could get you home same day. Welcome! We been waiting long enough for you to finally get to work here. What took you so long…
