Forgive my ignorance (am new at this) but: how is seniority level determined in a class of all brand new people?

This. Meant read the entire contract. Poorly worded.

American sorts new hires by age within a class (oldest is senior)

FWIW in MIA, the 320 has maybe 2/3rds the total trips as compared to the 737, but a much higher percentage of those trips are out of FLL. 15-20% of the 320 bid pack versus maybe 2-3% for the 737. I’m not sure on PBI. Could be a factor for someone eventually wanting those trips or to avoid them.
Thanks for this info! FLL originating trips are definitely important to me down the road.

Ok, here I thought we were looking for an ILC. I guess you are looking for an ISC.

Of course I am just messing with you, but it is frustrating when ACD is 5.15 and a new calendar day hits and it does not trigger another 5.15 until 0200. Might as well call it average 26 hour day instead of ACD.

To some airlines it’s better than theirs. 0159 is standard for the legacies I believe.

Pure calendar day would be a lot of griping with commuters. Ask your SWA buddies if they have trips that start afternoon day one and the last day finish before noon. Cuz we have them. They don’t. “Am’s or PM’s”

Totally unscientific guess based off my class and the friends in the class before and after mine, I would say average is mid to late 30s. Youngest in my class was 26, class before mine was 24. For a data point, I am 3 months from 34 and was 49/59.
