Based on the last class drop I’d say not good. 3 slots out of 47. The older you are the better your chances though.

Even if it’s only a few slots per class, the fact that new hires are getting PHL 320 at all (or any other aircraft and base) implies to me that it’s junior. So worst case scenario is commute somewhere else for a couple months until you can hold what you want on the next bid.

I appreciate the reply!

In addition to the vacancy bid, we have something on the APA website called Mutual Base Exchange. It allows you to swap bases with other pilots and it will often allow swaps between D and I. Mutual Base Exchange would probably be faster but there are some rules it must follow and one of them is you can't become the most junior person in a base.

I think mutual base exchange only works after you're finished with OE. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Any official word on August classes? I’ve seen 0 or 20 for the month. Wondering if there’s anything announced yet.

Just FYI...in the last class drop the PHL/320 went 1,2,3. So the most senior guys in the class snatched them up right quick.

Why is the 320/PHL so popular vs other new hire assignments? I’m just trying to understand the benefits of one location/aircraft over another.
