Actually when I was hired it was the best plane to take if you're a commuter. Off reserve and line holder in 2 months. Move up the ladder fast and then once you bid off you'll get group 2 pay with a great schedule. If I had to do it all over again I'd totally take the 190 for my first year. It all depends on your needs and mine was QOL as a commuter. It's worked great. Now I've been held and by the time I move over to the BUS I'll be a block holder.

The crews are awesome even the FA's comment on how much more fun they have with the 190 crews. Plus like I said I'm enjoying Group 2 pay and getting 15 to 17 days off a month and easy commutes. One hotel in 6 months and it was because of weather delays so big that I missed my last flight home.
Good Stuff!

Yes it has. Many know the word is out that it's the best plane for QOL. I believe the last 4-5 classes people that were commuting took it. One of my friends hired in Jan. got over 3 weeks off before training also because there's only one E-190 simulator in CLT. He sat reserve one month and now already enjoys a line.

Just depends on how fast they release people. Either way you won't sit reserve as long on the 190 as any other Aircraft. I guess to each his own. If the 190 pay was a tad more I'd stay on it. I love the trips, the overnights are good and the crews are a blast. 2nd year pay not so much.

I was hired almost 2 years ago. Spent half a month on SC reserve then one month LC. I think if you take the 190 near the end of the year you'll spend a few more months on reserve. Many spent a good amount of time on reserve because the company was beefing FO's up because they had to release a bunch. My buddy hired in Jan of this year spent on full month SC and got a line this month.

Once you had a line were the trips commutable? I'd be coming in from a Denver and looks like without taking an all nighter to work the earliest sign in I can make is 1330. Don't think it's my first choice but I'm pretty sure I'm in the bottom third age wise in the next class.

Once you get a line you'll probably only be able to commute on one side. CrashPad for sure and there are plenty of good ones to chose from. Once you get some seniority you'll never need a hotel. I have only got one hotel in 6 months and that was because of WX delays and I just missed my last commute flight.
Between American and United you'll have tons of chances to get to PHL from Denver.
LAX Bus would be first choice for you being out west but don't get to sad if you get the 190. Great Crews, good overnights. However I've heard a few classes now the 190's gone senior because of QOL.
Who knows! Congrats and enjoy the ride!
